Plans to axe free school lunches dropped

The Tories had been planning to scrap free lunches for infant school children that are from better off families in England, although those plans have now been axed and we have already seen on many websites that this has divided opinion.

It was the plan of the Conservative Government that only infant children from poorer families were to get free school lunches, but after listening to what people have been telling them – have decided to stick with the current provision.

This is just one of several proposals that the Tory Government have dropped since they were unable to secure a majority vote in the General Election – and this is not the only policy on the manifesto to have been dropped.

Do you think it is right for hard working families to not have to pay for school lunches for their children, or should they pay extra into the system to help lighten the load on an already stretched budget for education?
